You need downers to ride the uppers and get that perfect drug fueled circadian rhythm going.
Energy drinks during the day and a nice indica bong/dab rip, edible, or blunt in the evening.
Warning: If things have escalated to cocaine/meth/adderall to go up and opiates and a handy from the local masseuse to go down, you’re probably riding the rhythm too hard.
/s please take care of yourself!
Me actually. I take vyvanse to manage my ADHD and it is one of the few medications that has legitimately helped in a major way. 2 problems though; I struggled with bouts of insomnia before taking vyvanse and for whatever reason most medications last longer for me than they do for others. So about a year into using vyvanse my partner assures me that yes my insomnia has gotten much worse and I need to do something about it before it actually kills me. So for about 6 months now I have been working with my doctor to get some sleep meds bc mind you I do NEED the vyvanse (or a extended release stimulant of some kind) in order to function in this society. In these 6 months I was perscribed 2 sleep meds. One of them made me pass out really quick but it was nearly impossible to get out of bed in the morning and I felt like I had brain fog for hours. The second one was basically fucking melatonin (it was an analog known as ramelteon) and it made it harder to sleep if anything at all.
So anyway know I smoke weed almosy nightly. Sleep like a baby but I will admit it does occasionally interfere with my responsibilities lol
Sounds expensive
Not important if you just start robbing banks
🌌🧠
Jesus. And here I thought you were going to suggest something simple like chamomile tea.
Pfft, go big or go home
Ah, I believe this was standard practice in the 70’s; Black Beauties in the morning, quaaludes to tuck you in at night. 💊
I saw that documentary. “The Wolf of Wall Street” or something? Maybe that was actually late 80s-early 90s.
On a daily basis I consume enough drugs to sedate Manhattan, Long Island, and Queens for a month. I take Quaaludes 10-15 times a day for my “back pain”, Adderall to stay focused, Xanax to take the edge off, pot to mellow me out, cocaine to wake me back up again, and morphine… Well, because it’s awesome.
As a caffeine connoisseur, the “high end” energy drinks designed as pre-work out are all sugar free to prevent the terrible crash & stored sugar energy reserves. Was a night and day difference when I switched.
Bang, Reign, & C4 are the dedicated brands, Rockstar X-Durance is another popular one.
I like NOS, personally. But it bugs me so much how their sugar free version isn’t just sugar free; it’s also a completely different flavor and tastes horrible. The normal version tastes like nectarines or something. The sugarless one tastes like orange juice that’s been carbonated but with nothing to cut through the bitterness of the carbonic acid.
Rockstar and Bang are high end?
Bang, yes. The Rockstar X-Durance, specifically. The thing to look for is them being sugar free & having 300mg of caffeine in a can. That’s “high end” compared to Monster, Red Bull, etc.
Holy shit, 300mg caffeine sounds insane to me (a German). Over here Energy Drinks are not allowed to contain more than 32mg caffeine/100ml. So a big can (500ml) would have 160ml. Those are already a bit too much for me, I can only imagine how 300mg would feel.
C4’s are nice and my usual but it’s lame only a few of the flavors have 300mg caffeine and I don’t terribly like any of them. The artic snowcone or the “ruthless raspberry” are passable. Their Popsicle flavors are absolutely fantastic though but only 200.
The Skittles and Starburst flavors are the ones I usually go after, but yeah, they stiff you on the caffeine.
Reign is my go to, can get a 24 pack at Sam’s club for $35. 8 each of white gummi bear, orange creamsicle, and rainbow sherbet.
Shit. You’re gonna make me go back to reign.
I switched to Redbull because of the lower caffeine content (I feel like it’s starting to effect me with jitteriness and anxiety but still need it to function (yay undiagnosed ADHD)) but that orange creamsicle was sex in my mouth and when I was able to handle it that 300mg felt AMAZING.
I might just have a heart attack at work tomorrow.
Yeah, that creamsicle is chef’s kiss; definitely my favorite.
As a Nightshift Psychopath™ my caffeine dependencies are a bit different than “normal” people who drink coffee and don’t get accused of Vampirism. A buddy of mine used to make “pixie stix” out of C4 powder & Boba Straws for the times you get voluntold into a 16hr shift.
I haven’t reached that point yet, but I’ve thought about it more than I thought I would.
Energy drinks are counter intuitive.
The first thing to understand is there is no such thing as a “sugar rush” in the sense of gaining a burst of energy. The crash though, is very real.
Your body has not evolved to process that much sugar, so it tries to store it, which itself is energy intensive, so consuming large amounts of sugar will make you lethargic.
If you need the burst of energy in the morning, drink black coffee. You’ll learn to love it as your palette develops.
Energy drinks are counter intuitive.
This argument is ignoring that energy drinks a. have the same caffeine (usually more) than the coffee you offer as an alternative, b. don’t generally use sugar as a marketing term promising energy, and rather c. tend to offer sugar free alternatives to come across as healthier
They say no caffeine after noon because of the half life.
As a woman of an age dealing with unfortunate hormonal fluctuations, I’m holding myself to this. It’s almost frustrating in the way it’s paying off.
I’ve been riding the cycle of shitty sleep leading to excess caffeine, leading to shittier sleep even taking melatonin, leading to even more poor diet choices. I suffered through a day where I denied myself afternoon caffeine (stopping at noon, where previously I thought 3pm was close enough) and had a sucky day. But I slept slightly better that night. Holding myself to this, each night’s sleep has been slightly better, and I feel like I’m making smarter decisions again.
It’s still too early to say if it’ll be a long term solution, but this last week I’ve started taking small doses of l-theanine. It’s the stuff in tea that’s supposed to help you relax. I found 200mg chewable tablets that I break into 1/4-1/3 pieces. I take a little in the morning and some before bed, and am overall feeling more relaxed. I’ve slept beautifully the last few nights without melatonin, but with my track record I want to see that hold a good month before guiding the l-theanine all the credit.
Look at magnesium and zinc.
What if I don’t wake up until 2pm?
Thats a bit simplistic.
Caffiene has a half life of 5 hours, which is to say in 5 hours your average person will have metabolised half the dose. So if you have 200mg at lunch time, at 5pm your still feeling the effects of 100mg, it could take 10 hours to completely clear your system. If you’re sensitive to Caffiene, have a low tolerance or metabolise it slower you might have trouble sleeping before midnight.
I have a biblical tolerance, I’m up at 4am for work and I’m on a pretty serious cutting diet. I have my preworkout can at 3:30pm and have no trouble sleeping at 8:30 to 9pm.
Nitpick: you misunderstood half life. 10h is 25%
Yes, I did dun goof.
3:30pm?
Yeah, edited that for clarity. Thanks.
I just drink 6 shots of espresso. My body cannot take the sugar in energy drinks
Dude! Thats so unhealthy! Just do 6 shots of tequilla instead…
I do a couple lines and a couple shots to calm the jitters.
My body can take the sugar from one energy drink a lot better than it can take 6 shots of espresso.
That’s fair actually, it does do numbers on my gut
I have yet to try an energy drink that didn’t taste absolutely terrible to me.
redbull and tnt were like the baseline for me, all that gamer and influencer shit is straight up piss in a can
NOS was my vice for a while, i had to quit that.
ADHD would like a word.
Just watch me insert caffeine straight into my veins and also take a nap within 10 minutes.

SAME, I keep thinking this has to be our generations cigarettes and I hate that I’m a part of it. I’ve switched recently to caffeine pills and b-complex vitamins to save money. It’s not quite the same as a 300 mg bang or c4 but its pretty close for pennies compared to dollars.
Liquid Methamphetamine
Nah they took Jack3d off the market.
…no they didn’t…
I should have said “The original Jack3d” They took the DMAA out which was what made Jack3d kick ass in the first place.
I missed your reference entirely. Not something I was even aware of at all. My bad!
I tried Brite, a bit more healthier version of energy drinks, and I’m feeling much better not forcing myself to drink what tastes like battery acid in the morning. Still, the best would be to just stay away from caffeine, I had some periods like that lasting several months, was feeling great, and sleeping great
…how do you know what battery acid tastes like?
( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sir your eye appears to be twitching. Did you get battery acid in your eyes too?
That’s just the caffeine…
is Brite even worth trying, i mean 2€ per can is pretty much more expensive than anything comparable on the market.
I ended up around 1.3 per can, ordered 3 boxes with some discount. Will order one again soon, as they are throwing me another discount if I leave a review.
Defintely not cheap, but also not too far from brand name energy drink prices in Germany. Of course in Easter EU you can get Hell or something similar for around 0.5-0.6, it’s hard to beat that.
Me: I’ve cut my coffee intake down to one cup a day! Look how disciplined and restrained I am!
Also me: drinks 1.5 cans of Celsius per day
I actually do drink one cup of coffee a day. But it’s a pretty big cup, so it probably has the same amount of caffeine as 1.5 Celsius cans anyway.
Not even sleeping during the day fixes my sleep deprivation. This is starting to be a major health problem.
Can confirm.

You should try Celsius. It has no sugar and doesn’t give you that horrible crash after only 15 minutes.
I actually drink something very similar (zero sugar) as well! Sio it in the morning, stay hydrated… the insomnia is something I’ve had since I was a kid, unsuccessfully treated. At least I don’t have to sleep as much as average people!
