the Arch wiki has some info. Not too sure but i think enabling the systemd timer is enough.

why do you say apt is the worst pm?

I believe youtube-dl are just slower at accepting merges. For example yt-dlp were the first to mitigate youtube’s speed throttling and idk if the base project has it even now. It’s still functional but may be slower.

might help
To be frank i haven’t found much use for peertube yet. All my creators are still on youtube. If you’re interested in linux, gaming and open source there are the linux experiment, gaming on linux, the linux cast and Veronica explains but they all mirror their videos from youtube.
You won’t find youtube content on there. Like with reddit and lemmy, creators and users have to switch to bolster engagement.
Why not? Sounds are a subtle and quick indicator that something went good or bad. And if you find a particular action too repeating you can turn that sound off.
Firefox in general is faster for me than Chrome in many pages
However a notable exception are web games and web based game emulators. They’re a lot slower on Firefox and i get horrible sound crackling whereas on Chrome its much better. It’s been like this for years with no seeming improvement.
Discourse also has a fedi plugin, although it’s not finished yet afaik
I had this extensively before instances switched to 0.18 but some people say they see it even with 0.18.1
It’s mostly a personal interest. Sometimes i think i do that because it’s a sign from my brain because my life is too boring otherwise lol.
I often treat it as people often people treat their journals: its a bit therapeutic because you lay out your thoughts exactly as you remember feeling in the dream.
But i totally get disoriented mornings too.
When I wake up and know that the dream was particularly good I’ll immediately write it down on my phone while it’s still semi fresh in my mind for this reason. Over the years I’ve got quite a collection. Often I’ll read a random one and I’m always impressed and weirded out by what my mind came up with lol
I’ve always thought it’s the amount of upvotes a post is getting and how quickly it’s getting them
I’d say they fixed a lot of it but still a lot remains. Going in the right direction though.
No. I was browsing for communities, seeing how active they were in the process. One website showed the community being official coming from reddit but lemmy showed no content so I was very surprised with these results.
I’ve heard content may not be completely federated unless someone from my instance subscribes to that community or to that instance. Could this be the case here?
In any case i have to always double check because i can’t fully trust my own instance to show real community activity.
that’s awesome! so much more than i was hoping for. thank you and to the people who made this.
I’ll sometimes search for an acc I want to follow and they have 5 different accounts with different fedi addresses. I know I want the Mastodon account but often there’s no indication which one is Mastodon, which one is Pixelfed which one lemmy etc in the name.
So you end up with account@mastodon account@pixelfed account@lemmy.ml in the best case.
And account@instancename1 account@instancename2 account@instancename3 in the worst case.
And they all have the same icon and belong to the same person
if anyone like me was wondering
