Not exactly the same scenario, but close enough for proof of concept.
We check criminal records from local and national databases as well as your driving record. Because my industry is working with kids, we’re really just checking to make sure you don’t have any child abuse or neglect on your record.
Other industries, I’m sure, are looking for different things based on what they’re hiring for. Where I work, there is a different set of checks we run on folks that work in our finance department, but I don’t oversee that area.
KineStop - After Apple announcef Motion Cues, I went looking on Android because I cannot use my devices in a moving vehicle. KineStop is all I found. I went ahead and bought it because it helps (doesn’t completely get rid of motion sickness). I would gladly switch to an open source alternative if one were available.
+1 for Florisboard
I made SO many self-extracting archives back in the day. My friends just couldn’t be bothered to use 7zip.
Presently, on meet.jit.si, only the moderator needs to be logged in. Everyone else can just join the meeting with no need to log in.
But that’s just the one that Jitsi runs. The Guardian Project has a Jitsi Monitor that can point you to some other Jitsi instances.
Not unlike Lemmy. If you don’t like the way things are run on one server, check a different one.
It depends on the app publisher. The official F-Droid repo has Newpipe version 25.2, which was added August 10, 2023. The Newpipe upstream repo has version 26.1, added December 27, 2023.
There are general purpose repos and specific app repos. Those for specific apps might allow you to download apps not found elsewhere or they might just get you the update a little faster.
I have the repos for Collabora and Newpipe enabled on mine for those reasons.
You might also look at Obtanium if you’re looking to keep specific apps updated.
I can’t believe this happened because I made a comment on a Plex community. Thank you so much for even looking into this.
Holy cow! That’s amazing!
I would have never stumbled upon playlist shuffling by myself. Wow! You have no idea how much you just made my day! Thank you!
For context, I run Jellyfin on a box at home that serves 3 Rokus and a family of 4. I also run Jellyfin at work, a small school, where it feeds 18 Rokus in wide variety of use cases.
There are two features on my wishlist that are available on Android but not yet Roku.
The first would be the ability to shuffle a playlist. I loved that shuffle was added episodes a while back.
Don’t shame me for wanting to watch things in a random order. /s
The second would be the ability to search for subtitles. I love the new subtitles interface. It would be the cherry on top to be able to search for a missing subtitle without bouncing over to a separate devices.
I know that’s a whole other kind of request, given the use of the open subtitles plugin.
Thank you for all you do!
You’re mileage is going to vary based on if you’re running off the server’s web interface or from a client. The Roku client has made some amazing improvements and I’m thankful for those devs, but it’s still behind the Android version in terms of features.
For music on Android, as an example, Gelli, Finamp, and Fintunes are all music focused clients.
Lastly, you can run both Plex and Jellyfin off the same library. Give it a try, see how you like it without giving up Plex. I ran them in tandem for about six months because making the jump.
Come join us on Jellyfin. The project has made some great progress.
I can do Bob’s or American Dad! to fall asleep to. My wife, on the other hand, prefers the original run of Futurama.
For whatever reason, I’ll binge Gravity Falls if I’m stuck in bed sick.
Joke’s on you, I’m into that shit.
My lump charcoal smoker.
Does this suggest Dan Levy is a middle aged white woman? He might be on board with that.
The real Magic Mouse is the Logitech Powerplay. You’ll never convince me otherwise.
