Sea of thieves.
You get to talk to people. It can be a grind if you want. Or PvP if you want. Or just fishing and relaxing if you want. It has matured nicely and is still popular.

I’ve been using duck duck for the last 2 years and it’s fine if you don’t need localized results. If I’m searching for x thing in y area then I go back to Google for that.
That’s perfectly reasonable
Combined age? Combined age. COMBINED AGE!
I have solved my work problem by using the online versions of MS office and SharePoint. The desktop versions are just emulated web apps these days anyway. I have only seen MS Project (which sucks anyway) and Excel having features I needed once or twice on the desktop version vs the online version.
I’m seconding this recommendation
IMO if you are using a companies VPN then the larger the company, the more chance it’s data is being exfiltrated. Looking at you Nord.
If you know how to host your own then your risk goes dramatically down. Although for anonymity you should choose a cloud that you don’t need to give your personal info to. Good luck with that.
This is why criminals rely on hacked devices. No credit card needed.
If you are simply torrenting some media then no one is looking at you anyway. Pretty much any VPN or location would be fine for that.
Your security posture should relate to your risk.

Just use an incognito tab. You will get cookies for your browsing session and then when you close the tab, poof they are all gone
I don’t hold it against them. They have their hands full at the moment with DDOS attacks. The admins are barely able to keep the place running. The beauty of federation is that we can pick and choose where to sail from.
Unfortunately the machines that get infected are not fully controlled by us but they get networking and internet from us (space rental in the building), so we isolate them as much as possible and we black hole all the bad traffic on the router level.
Our machines all have EDR and strict security policies. Not much gets past that.
We are seeing on our corporate network lots of browser hikackers that connect to c&c and are used in botnet DDOS as a service. Once you install x software it sets up a persistent service that keeps modding chrome.exe etc
Firewalling the .exe that you installed does nothing to stop the calls to c&c
Your character is at full power from day 1, so you only get stronger by learning to play better. The naval combat can take a bit of time to master but it’s fun. The only thing you get for playing a long time are cosmetics. If you want to get sweaty with PvP then you can find a group on the SoT discord. Otherwise, for more casual play you can sail solo or join other players using the open crew matchmaking system. I have around 1700 hours in the game and it’s just as fun as when I started.
