Thousands of bombs went off across Lebanon and killed and injured children, elderly people, and adults.

Of course, mainstream media is trying to pretend that Israel didn’t potentially commit what should be considered a warcrime while assholes on social media are spinning this as a masterfully precise and accurate strike that didn’t have a considerable amount of collateral (I’ve literally seen someone say “only people with something to hide would be around a pager in this day and age” verbatim), and that anyone injured or killed was a member of Hezbollah.

When ISIS plants bombs on people and detonates them in public places then it’s a bad thing. Israel does it and everyone stands, claps and tips everyone with $100% bills.

There are still companies that make physical copies, but typically it’s in limited quantities and sadly I’ve found that most of them (especially one of the big ones, LRG) can be pretty scummy. I think the only two I’ve found that are worth buying stuff from are iam8bit and fangamer.

They’re scientists, not programmers. They may do programming as part of their job, but that’s generally not what they’re interested in. In other words, you (or someone else) will have to make it for them because it’s unlikely they’ll do it themselves unless shit gets really bad.

Tbh that’s actually pretty good for what is probably a VHS rip. They might not even be all that compressed compared to the original.

I’ve also been to the US (west coast, Portland) and Jebus, that was terrible. It seems like the big weakness of torrents is that if the front-end goes down, then no one can get new torrents anymore, making the front-end an obvious target due to its centralized nature. However, has anyone considered making an activitypub-powered torrent tracker/download site? Kinda like a hybrid between soulseek and BitTorrent. The sites in the network all get torrent information from each other so you have a billion front-ends. Good luck stopping that if they all sync their databases together.

It’s okay, tbh I don’t think you’re missing out. My experience is that they’re usually badly maintained if they’re maintained at all (last time I looked at a hotel pool it was green and growing algae). The “swimmable” hotel pools are only found at really, really nice hotels.

Why do they even bother installing pools in hotels if they’re not going to maintain them? What a waste of space.

Jesus Christ what a wild story. Is it possible that Craven simply wanted to do good, but “as a white, abled man” wasn’t opening doors so they felt they had to pretend to be someone else? From what it sounds like, a lot of what they and their “”“partners”“” did was legitimately helpful. The thing that leaves me confused is that they probably could have fleeced people for significantly more money but didn’t. They didn’t have to put the amount of effort into it as they did. Is it possible they were trying to do the right thing but were going about it the wrong way?
