Maybe I’m dumb, but if I go buy property in Mexico (for instance) and the government decides to take it, or I stop paying on it, or run out of money, I don’t get any protections for my money. I can’t file for bankruptcy and keep my money safe. I gambled and lost.

Why do non American companies/people have the opportunity to file for bankruptcy as protection in a country they aren’t beholden to the rules of?

Well, we know that the Jan 6th “protesters” are getting 6 months, or maybe a year. The longest I’ve seen was 18 years to stupid ass Stuart Rhodes. How is what this woman did 9 years worth of time worse?

So happy you enjoyed my city. Don’t get me wrong. I love it here, even with all the drawbacks. It’s just one of those things. CA was built around the car, and everything is SO spread out because of it.

Ironic coming from a San Diego university. There are very few walkable neighborhoods here (unless you’re downtown). I realized not to long ago, I hate where I live because I have all the drawbacks of living on the city (traffic, noise, too many people) and none of the benefits. Like it being walkable, or being able to reasonably interact with neighbors.

If you had asked me a month ago, I’d have said absolutely, as long as it keep Reddit alive.

Now? Absofuckinglutely not. I’m a firm believer in putting my money where my mouth is. I haven’t accessed Reddit (intentionally) since the 11th. And my original plan was to see how it all played out, and still probably browse only when I’m at my desk, on my laptop. Watching it all unfold, I’m absolutely disgusted with the choices they are making, and more so with how they are treating everyone, privately, and publicly.

I won’t be going back to Reddit. And I’m ok with that. It was honestly already a bit too……money-grubbing anyhow, and all this last week just solidified that for me.
