Estimates of the death toll of the crackdown during Duterte’s presidential term vary, from the more than 6,000 that the national police have reported up to 30,000 claimed by human rights groups.

I remember hearing about the situation with Duterte a long time ago. It must have been hell to put up with a government which seemed determined to destroy some of its weakest. I hope things are better in the Phillipines now, and continue to get better!
