The difficulty is asking people to get started with this. People want to get to work/navigate as quickly as possible to where they need to be, they don’t want to be figuring it out. They probably never bothered to watch the 60s film and just assumed that they knew what was happening because the ending is so iconic and has been widely parodied for 50+ years.

There have been no public comments either way to suggest that the deal has expired, anything out of the ordinary has happened or that it will not be renewed if this is the case.

More importantly, this is an opinion piece on the stock tip section of a website that is notably not a news agency. If this were true, it would represent a massive Geo-political shift and would have been widely reported by now.

Controversial opinion: I see more recycled content on Lemmy than Reddit. Comments are usually far better here, but it’s an unavoidable reality that there are less people generating new content here. Especially for niche communities.

Hop on over to the niche communities about movies or particular subgenres and they’re either dead or recycling stuff. Go to those same niche communities on Reddit and you’ll see lots of fresh content all the time. Maybe the main feeds are comparable but if you’re into anything niche that isn’t computing, privacy, politics or gaming, Lemmy can get a bit stale.
