A ban on burning a copy of a holy book is dumb, but international Muslims keep taking the bait and racists aren’t going to stop baiting them, so this might actually be the best solution.
The best solution would be to apply existing hate speech laws to public gatherings dedicated to publicly “hating” people of a religion or some other minority e.g. LGBT or something else.
Oh yeah, if that’s an option that’s great. Why haven’t they tried that first?
The bill would make it a criminal offence to burn the Muslim holy book, the Bible or the Torah publicly.
Nice to see a clear dividing line between religions that matter and deserve protection and religions that can still legally be abused
